Benzene is a very important molecule in variety of industrial, environmental, and chemical systems. In combustion, benzene plays an essential role the formation growth polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons soot. this work, new laser-based diagnostic presented to make quantitative, interference-free, sensitive measurements mid-infrared (MIR) region. The based on widely tunable difference-frequency-generation (DFG) laser system. We developed source emit MIR between 666.54 cm?1 790.76 as result DFG process external-cavity quantum-cascade-laser CO2 gas nonlinear, orientation-patterned GaAs crystal. were carried out at peak (673.94 cm?1) Q-branch ?11 vibrational band benzene. absorption cross-section was measured over range pressures (4.44 mbar 1.158 bar) room temperature. temperature dependence studied behind reflected shock waves 553–1473 K. demonstrated high-temperature reactive experiment from propargyl radicals. will prove highly beneficial for studies consumption kinetics.
